Project Learn



Project Learn is an evidence-based strategy supporting youth-centered learning in Clubs. Project Learn has been shown to improve youth academic performance by strengthening the ecosystem of support and inviting youth to fall in love with learning. Project learn is most effective when all 5 components are implemented (high yield learning activities; motivation & incentives; family & caregiver engagement; school partnerships; homework help & tutoring). Incorporating program components provides additional opportunities for engagement and growth among youth.
Youth of the Year

Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, Youth of the Year is awarded to an exceptional Club members(s). Following our local Youth of the Year celebration event, our Youth of the Year competes at the state level and has an opportunity to advance to the regional and national competition.
SMART Girls

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
Street SMARTS

The Street SMARTS program focuses on protective factors encompassing activities and dialogue with law enforcement to help build and strengthen youth and community relationships.
Money Matters: Make it Count

The Money Matters program introduces young people to critical foundational financial skills and knowledge. This is a targeted program in Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Education Core Program Area that supports the priority outcome of Academic Success. It is geared toward financial health through behavior change and the building of decision-making skills and confidence.
Passport To Manhood

Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-17. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. This program represents a targeted effort to engage young men in discussions activities that reinforce positive behavior.
Ultimate Journey

Ultimate Journey is one of BGCA's oldest and most successful STEM programs. Developed in partnership with the National Park Service, the curriculum features age-appropriate modules that introduce young people in 4th-8th grade (9- to 13-year-olds) to aspects of environmental stewardship. It includes fun, experiential, environmental education activities that cultivate an awareness and appreciation of the natural wonders that surround young people.
Career Launch

Career Launch encourages Club members to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions, and prepare to join our nation's workforce.
Healthy Habits

Healthy Habits focuses on helping youth make healthy eating and recreational choices. The program consists of 14 progressive, interactive, practical activities that develop a young person’s skill, confidence and motivation to make healthy nutrition and active living choices.
STEM

Mother Bear Foundation
Along with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we are committed to closing the opportunity gap in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with innovative and creative programs, activity ideas and resources for the youth we serve. After-school and summer learning environments provide unique opportunities to advance STEM knowledge and increase interest in STEM-related careers.
Indiana Kids

The Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs has been operating the Indiana Kids program since January 2006. The overall goal of the program is to increase scores on the reading and math fluency sub-tests. Club members will make the number of month’s improvement in reading and math as compared to the number of months on the program. Since the program’s inception, program components have expanded to learning about college, career, job readiness, workforce skill development, leadership development, volunteerism, social-emotional learning, and alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention programming.

Holiday Management Foundation
Helping prepare youth to begin the school year on the right foot, Supplies For Success provides youth with essential school supplies to begin the school year.
SMART Moves

SMART Moves is a suite of health promotion programs, focused on building the key attitudes and skills necessary for youth to make decisions about their health. This program provides content aligned with the most important social-emotional skills necessary for healthy decision-making. This is reflected in the name of the program: SMART is an acronym for Skills Mastery and Resilience Training.
