Leadership Transition at Boys & Girls Club of Evansville

The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville is excited to announce a leadership transition that will build on our strong foundation while preparing for future growth.

After serving as Executive Director since 2003, Ron Ryan transitioned into the role of Chief Executive Officer. Under Ron’s leadership, the Club expanded to multiple locations, grew its impact throughout the region, and served more than 30,000 young people during his tenure.

Stepping into the role of Executive Director is Andrew Backes, who joined the Club in 2023 as Director of Major Gifts and Strategic Planning. Andrew brings extensive nonprofit leadership experience, a passion for serving youth, and a deep connection to the Club’s mission that began as a volunteer in 2017.

As CEO, Ron will focus on strengthening funding partnerships, supporting growth opportunities, and mentoring Andrew as he leads the organization into its next chapter.

Together, Ron and Andrew will continue working to ensure local youth have the opportunities, support, and resources they need to reach their full potential.

Please join us in congratulating Ron and Andrew as they begin this exciting new chapter for the Boys & Girls Club of Evansville.
