Boys & Girls Club of Evansville has provided young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health, and foster the skills they need to become leaders.
Program Partners
Engaging Club members in learning; encouraging them to succeed in school and helping them become lifelong learners. Project Learn drives positive outcomes through an individualized or small group, structured learning experience. Includes high-yield learning activities extending learning beyond the classroom while improving behavior towards learning.

A suite of programs designed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America focused on building key attitudes and skills necessary for youth to make informed decisions about their health. This program provides content aligned with the most important social-emotional skills necessary for healthy decision-making. Program modules are adaptable for K – 12th grade; encouraging resisting alcohol, tobacco, other drugs, and pregnancy prevention.

This program fosters awareness of resisting gang involvement, bully prevention, and building the street-smart knowledge to develop positive habits. Street SMART focuses on protective factors, developing key competencies youth need in order to build healthy self-esteem and form positive relationships.

Developed in partnership with the National Park Service, this program is one of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s oldest and most successful STEM programs. Youth between the ages of 9 and 13 are introduced to age appropriate aspects of environmental stewardship. This program is focused on experiential, environmental education to inspire appreciation of the community our young people live in and enjoy throughout the year.

With an increased interest in more creative programming, STE(A)M is empowering youth to create new solutions towards everyday challenges. STE(A)M helps develop critical-thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and other 21st century skills relating to success in school, home and the workforce.

The Youth of the Year program recognizes youth who possess strong leadership skills and positive character. This is a nationally recognized program where local, state, regional and national competitions lead to one young person receiving the Youth of the Year honor; then, serves as Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s youth spokesperson for Clubs across the country annually. This is the highest honor bestowed among a Club member.
Since 2006, we have partnered with Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs to help youth advance to the next grade level on time through the Indiana Kids program. This program combines high quality pre and post-tests to gauge grade progression and improve math and reading levels. In addition to sub-tests, careers, volunteerism, workforce development and social-emotional learning are included in this well-rounded program.

SMART Girls is a small-groups health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement programs for girls. Club girls are able to explore their own and societal attitudes and values and they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

This financial literacy program provides youth with basic skills to understand economic differences and help start a path towards financial stability. Youth learn financial differences between credit/debit, saving/spending, and the fun of becoming entrepreneurs.

This program is a series of sessions guiding boys on their journey to manhood, supporting them as they begin to let go of adolescent ways of thinking and acting, face various challenges that call on their strength and resilience and consciously adopt the attitudes and behaviors of adulthood. Ultimately, male members gain the understanding, skills and strategies they need to make a successful transition to adulthood.

Brain Gain provides the opportunity to hone 21st Century skills, engage youth in discovery, and impart fun with a purpose as student’s transition from one grade to the next. This program provides members with team-building sessions and helps promote educational readiness.

Developed to build the skills, attitudes, knowledge and behaviors essential to an overall healthy lifestyle, Healthy Habits / Triple Play helps youth gain the ability, confidence, and motivation to lead physically active lifestyles and adopt healthful eating patterns and behaviors. Through progressive, interactive, practical program sessions this program helps lead nutritional and physical literacy.
